When making your own way by car
coming from Chania airport/port to Chrisanthi Apartments in Mirthios, you will take the Main road with direction to RETHYMNON for about 65 kilometers (if you are coming from Heraklion airport/port with direction to RETHYMNON the distance is about 80 kilometers).
When you are close to Rethymno city you will exit the main road following a large green sign indicating "SPILI" (for those coming from Chania make sure that you will not exit earlier to signs pointing RETHYMNO but you will have to pass first under a bridge and 700 meters after you will exit the main road when you see a sign to SPILI).
After exiting the main road you will continue with direction uphill (south) to Spili for about 17 kilometers until you find a right junction WITH A SIGN to "Plakias" and "Preveli". You will follow the right turn to Plakias and after 500 meters you will pass through the village of "Koxare", and 4 km after you will enter the "Kourtaliotis" gorge.
The next village just 500 meters after the exit of the gorge is "Asomatos". Leaving the village "Asomatos" you will find a junction to the left going to "Plakias" but YOU WILL KEEP GOING STRAIGHT following the sign to Mirthios.
After 2 kilometers you will find the village of "Mariou". One kilometer after "Mariou" you will turn right to the junction going to "Mirthios" and after about 500 meters you will enter the village of Mirthios.
You will cross the village and a few meters after you exit Mirthios you will see the Chrisanthi Apartments sign at the right side of the road. Turn right to the up going road and you will meet Mrs Chrisanthi waiting for you. |
